Wasps tend to fly in a more direct, straight line and are known for their agility and quick movements. They are more likely to fly straight in and out of the nest entry point.

How to know the difference
Wasp or bee?
Wasps and bees can look similar from a distance, but they move and look different. If you are unsure, do not disturb them and call for advice.
Wasps are bright in colour and smooth. Bees are duller in colour, slightly furry and usually more rounded in size, although you may need a trained eye to tell them apart.
Wasp Nest Treatment
Wasp control for Birmingham homes and businesses
Wasps can nest around rooflines, sheds, garages, wall cavities and business premises. If the nest is close to people, it is best not to leave it too long as it can grow in size and cause more issues coming into the summer months.
Homes and gardens
Wasps around doors, patios, lofts, rooflines, sheds and gardens can quickly become a problem for the household.
Businesses and managed sites
Shops, offices, rental properties and commercial premises may need wasp activity dealt with quickly and safely.
Same nest re-treatment
As long as it is the same nest in the same area, we will advise and re-treat where required.
Frequently Asked Questions
Birmingham wasp control FAQ's
Do you remove the nest?
We can do if you can see it. Most nests you won't be able to find as they could be in a wall cavity, between floors or another hidden area. We will not remove the nest if it is still active as it can be dangerous for the technician and the customer. We treat the nest from an external point and if you want it removed after, we can do so at a later date at an additional cost.
How long does it take for the nest to die after treatment?
Once treated, for the first 2 to 3 hours you may see a lot more activity, so it is best to ensure windows near the treated area are closed for this period. In general wasp nests are dead within 24 hours, but we say allow 48 hours as there might be a few stray wasps still about.
What happens if we are still seeing wasps?
As long as it is the same nest in the same area, we will come out and re-treat free of charge. We guarantee our work.
If you do not remove the nest, will it return next year?
Wasps are only active for one season and start dying off in the autumn. Once the nest is dead, wasps will not re-occupy it. Newly formed queens hibernate in warmer areas and may begin building a new nest the following year.
Can you kill bees?
We can treat some bee problems, but we cannot kill honey bees. Honey bees can look similar to wasps but are not as bright and are a little furry. If you have honey bees, it is best to find a beekeeper.
