Wasp Control Redditch

Wasp nest treatment for Redditch homes and businesses

STP Wasp Control helps with active wasp nests across Redditch, including residential properties, gardens, sheds, rooflines, garages, landlords, shops, small businesses and commercial premises.

Most customers first notice wasps repeatedly flying in and out of one small entry point. The nest may be hidden inside a roof space, wall cavity, shed, garage, hedge, loft void or under tiles, so you do not always need to see the nest itself.

Do not block the hole or disturb the area before treatment. Wasps can become more defensive, and blocking the entrance can force them to find another route, sometimes into the building.

Active nest treatment

We focus on the entry point, who may be affected and the safest practical treatment route.

Clear aftercare

You will be told what to expect after treatment and when activity should start to reduce.

Important Advice

Do not spray, block or knock the nest

If wasps are active near a doorway, garden seating area, roofline, tenant space, customer entrance, staff door or children’s play area, keep clear and call for advice. Trying to treat a live nest yourself can make the situation more difficult.

Wasp or Bee?

How to know the difference from a wasp and a bee

The correct advice depends on what is present. If you are unsure, keep clear of the activity and describe what you can see when you call.

Flight PatternWasps usually fly directly and quickly

Wasps tend to fly in a more direct, straight line and can move quickly around the entry point. If they are repeatedly using the same gap, roofline, shed or wall opening, there may be an active nest nearby.

How they lookBees often look duller and slightly furry

Wasps are usually bright in colour and smooth. Bees are often duller, slightly furry and rounder in shape. Sometimes you may need a trained eye to tell them apart from a safe distance.

Common Redditch Callouts

Where wasp nests are usually found

Every property is different, but most Redditch callouts fall into a few common areas. The important detail is where the wasps are entering and leaving.

Rooflines and wall gaps

Activity around soffits, fascia boards, roof tiles, gutter lines, air bricks, vents, mortar gaps and loft spaces.

Gardens and outbuildings

Wasps can nest near sheds, garages, fence panels, bushes, compost areas, patios, play areas and garden seating.

Landlords and businesses

Nests near staff doors, customer entrances, yards, rentals, communal areas or public-facing spaces can disrupt normal use quickly.

Treatment Process

What happens when a technician attends?

The aim is to treat the active nest safely. The nest is often treated from the entry point rather than removed while live, especially when it is hidden in a wall cavity, roof space or between floors.

  1. 1. We take the detailsWe ask where the wasps are, how accessible the area is and whether anyone is at risk nearby.
  2. 2. The entry point is checkedThe technician looks for the safest point to treat the active nest without unnecessary disturbance.
  3. 3. Treatment is appliedThe active nest is treated from the correct point. The nest is usually left in place while it dies off.
  4. 4. Aftercare is explainedYou are told what to expect over the next 24 to 48 hours and when to contact us again.

Frequently Asked Questions

Redditch wasp nest removal FAQ's

Do you remove the nest?

We can do if you can see it, but most nests are hidden in places such as wall cavities, roof spaces or between floors. We will not remove the nest while it is still active because it can be dangerous for the technician and the customer. We normally treat the nest from an external point first. If you want visible nest removal afterwards, this can be discussed at a later date at an additional cost.

How long does it take for the nest to die after treatment?

For the first 2 to 3 hours you may see more activity, so it is best to keep nearby windows closed. In general, wasp nests are dead within 24 hours, but we say allow up to 48 hours as there may be a few stray wasps still returning.

What happens if we are still seeing wasps?

As long as it is the same nest in the same area, call us back for advice. We guarantee our work and can arrange a re-treatment where appropriate.

If you do not remove the nest, will it return next year?

Wasps are only active for one season and start dying off in autumn. Once the nest is dead, wasps will not re-occupy that old nest. New queens may hibernate and start a separate nest the following season.

Can you kill bees?

We cannot kill honey bees. Honey bees can look similar to wasps but are usually not as bright and can look a little furry. If you have honey bees, it is best to contact a beekeeper as we may not be able to help.

Need help with a wasp nest in Redditch?

Do not leave it too long as the nest can grow in size

As the nest grows, wasp activity can become harder to live with and may begin affecting doors, gardens, customers, tenants, staff or family members.
